our last days in rincón were spent soaking up as much sun as we possibly could, trying out the beach house (which ended up being one of the coolest open air restaurants and one of our favorites!),  and jumping in the hot tub over and over and over. mikey and i even snuck in a few (very interrupted) mornings listening to the sermons from grace on the back porch over coffee and smoothies from jakes java

we loaded the crew up in the red jeep and made our way back to old san juan for our last couple of days in puerto rico...

breaky at happy bowls, dinner at pool bar sushi, & a day spent at crash boat beach.

mikey and i are beach lovers. put us on a beach and we'll stay out all day. crash boat beach was full of locals playing loud music & dancing on the beach & we loved it. we munched pinchos & breadfruit and sipped piña coladas for lunch. the boys jumped from the pier to mikey and made friends with a little boy named gabi. we stayed & soaked up as much sun as we could, then loaded up & drove the 40 minutes back to rincón in our red jeep. a perfect day if you ask us!

after two days in old san juan, we loaded up in our (awesome) red jeep and headed west to the surf town of rincón. this little beach town served as our home for the next week. we loved exploring the beaches -- sandy, steps, crash boat, pools, the marina, playa rincon, and playa boqueron -- swimming in the hot tub at Serenity, eating tons of great food and honestly, just being together. we found favorite eateries & favorite beaches, made friends with the locals & their kids, read, and made memories just the 5 of us that are sure to last a life time.

a few of my favorite things from our first days in rincón: catching the sunset at steps beach the first night, finding sea glass with mooshka, piña coladas & the boys playing with their matchbox cars

We started our Puerto Rican trip in Old San Juan which is amazing. The history is rich, the colors are bold and pastries abound. We spent our days walking the old cobblestone streets, trying out different restaurants & wandering Castillo San Crisóbal.

We also spent a lovely afternoon at the rooftop pool at La Terrazzo de San Juan (the sister property to our airbnb). Amos loved the "mini" (infinity) pool, Solly and Ez napped in the shade and Mike and I wined with new friends (and I even got to sneak in an impromptu shoot of a couple of lovebirds!).

Our time here was short, so I'm glad we have a couple of days at the end of our trip to wander these old streets again, to breath in the salty air and to just be - lost in another time, in another country with my people.

Things I want to remember from this weekend:

a last minute lunch with Mere & May at CFA before they headed back to Boston
being at home with my people
learning my new camera (still swooning. thanks mikey)
errands to scoop up last minute things for our trip
packing for all five of us
4AM wake up call
