New Orleans bedazzled me with her palm trees and bright colored buildings. Very Charleston-like in my mind. She also swooned me with giant magnolias and jazz flitting up and down the brick-paved streets all day long. The heat and humidity is stifling, in a way that makes everything slow down.
New Orleans etched in my memory:
turquoise cast iron
a lavender latte
rug hunting
sweeping magnolias
more coffee
chatting while we watched the might Mississippi roll by
a Cat. 5 burrito
sazeracs & jazz
antiques and local bbq
walking and talking. or, talking and walking
We're talking of heading west next year, or cozying up in a cabin somewhere in the mountains of Vermont, or maybe road tripping to Tennessee. Wherever we end up, I know my heart will be fuller from time spent with Amber and Alexa. I'll go home rested and refreshed, ready for more motherhood, more life with Mikey, more of my everyday.
what i would give for one of those sno-cones riiiight about now....
