I am so against early birthday gifts. But...Mike's birthday is March 10 -- like the middle of spring & I was worried that he wouldn't be able to wear his longed for high neck hoodie for very long if I waited to give it to him!! He LOVES it! I think he's worn it every single day since I gave it to him!
Frozen bird waterer in the front yard!
"Cowboy Cookies" (thanks Gene / Tasty Kitchen for the recipe!)
I took these to the LOST party the night before & they were a HUGE hit! I made Mike take the rest to work so I wouldn't eat 20 of them!
Here's the recipe:
MIX: 1 cup white sugar (or Splenda), 1 cup brown sugar, 2 sticks butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
ADD 2 eggs to the above mixture.
IN A SEPARATE BOWL sift together 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. ADD to sugar/butter/egg mixture.
ADD 2 cups oats, 1 pack (12oz) semisweet chocolate chips, 1 cup craisins, 1 cup butterscotch chips (I left these out because I didn't have any), 1 small bag chopped pecans (or nuts of your preference---I used hazelnuts and the sweet hazelnutty taste was great vs the tartness of the craisins!)
BAKE at 350 degrees on greased baking sheet for 8-9 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to cooling rack (otherwise they are so soft and gooey that they will fall apart!)
*You can mix & match the ingredients...the recipe called for raisins, but I don't like them, so I used craisins...you can add other kinds of nuts or chocolate chips ...whatever you like!
Mike & I did yard work at his parents house for the afternoon (after a class at church / before a shower for Will & Julie!) -- I took a photo shoot break (:
Shadows on the front porch....our hangout spot for a lot of the afternoon because it was so beautiful!!
My latest craft -- the lighting was pretty bad..it's a white canvas, but it looks SO dingy here ): Oh well...I've got to get a gold Sharpee to finish it!
This is my very special Valentine from my sweet little brother (: It's a Hershey's bar that says "Happy Valentine's Day" on the chocolate!
A little side note: for Valentine's day Mike & I decided to save the money and to not make it a big deal...however, we did meet a couple friends from church at Bojangle's before the service and had some heart shaped Bo-Berries! (: YUMM!! (I told Mike that I would ALWAYS take heart shaped Bo-Berries for Valentine's day!)
Honey sent Valentine's cards to us - with Movie tickets inside! (: Yiippeeee..a movie date!
You're probably thinking that I just re-used a picture from the other day that I posted a picture of this bird (ahem, Carolyn)...but it's not true. This little birdie lives outside of our house (with the male..or several males! Scandolous! hah!) and hangs out near the bird feeder / front porch. I'm getting daring and venturing off the porch to see how close I can actually get..I am hoping a LOT closer than I have been able to so far.
This stemmed from my boredom at home....
Our newest hobby...we've played a few times (I'm looking forward to some warmer weather!) -- and we aren't very good, but it's something that's fun for us to do together (or with friends!) and it's great exercise! Plus, we can walk to the park that's right behind our house!
Snow day #2...what?! Hah! In SC this is a HUGE deal..too bad they've both happend on the weekend..
My little bird friend came back. I have a feeling you will seem him a LOT!
Back Porch Railing
Don't be fooled. It was disgusting! I was SO disappointed! I made these wonderful looking Pound Cake Cupcakes for dessert and when we ate them they were so dry that I literally choked and thought Mike was going to have to do the heimlich!!
LOST Season Premier (the last season!!!)
How my life will be spent on Thursday nights until it's over, then I do not know what I will do...probably re-watch all of the seasons. Hah!
Craft night - painting a picture frame for Ashleigh's shower on Saturday
"Stock the Kitchen" Shower for Ashleigh (:
The bird feeder that is in our front yard has become a source of a lot of pictures for me! I LOVE birds (if you haven't noticed)

Carson asked me & Mike to join him for some Spirit Week festivities at HHS this week -- Tonight was the dodgeball tourney & boy it took both me and Mike back to when we played in the tournament for LHF during our Spirit Week Senior year! Good Times, Good Times (:
After a wedding shower for Elizabeth when I got home their "Save the Date" was in our mailbox! (:
There were several Cardinals outside today! I LOVE birds - how fun! I hope that we'll have lots of these little visitors throughout the spring!
Mike's FAVORITE dessert! Raspberry Sorbet, Vanilla Ice Cream & Ginger Thins. Mike isn't very much of a sweet eater, so when we walked down to Publix to return a movie and get a "snack" I didn't figure we'd really come back with dessert! But, after a few minutes of wandering up down the isles, Mike had a GREAT idea! We bought the necessary items, walked home & he made me his favorite dessert! (:
Grace Ann -- the little baby I got to watch today!
First Snow of the Year!!!
