from the day you turned 32

1-25

a thought: two more birthdays together and we'll have moved into the second chunk of our lives together - the chunk where we've been together longer than we've been apart ... isn't that something?

you declared this your most favorite birthday yet. spent with your special people over brunch at a local dive, homemade chocolate cake at their place (8 kids, soon to be 9) running around at our feet, a 16 mile run, a new book + a new duffle + and something that's still on the way (oops) ...

celebrating you is one of my greatest joys in life. you're my best boy, mikey! cheers to another year - may it be a year of growth, challenge, pursuit, dreams chased, sleep and doing the things you love the most!

Solly Mack, you're FOUR! We had the best time celebrating you on your birthday. We continued the tradition of donuts for breaky - only this time, daddy scored them before you guys woke up so we could eat them at home and send Mosie off to school. Daddy picked out a super cool skateboard for you (want) and you've totally rocked out on it. We scooped Amos up from school for an early dismissal and headed to the new trampoline park in town. Let me just say, it didn't disappoint. Even Oscar loved it! We took back to the house for a rest time after jumping for over an hour, then loaded up and went to Sidewall for cheese pizza + ice cream and then to the park so you could check out your new skateboard. A birthday well spent, I think!

You've seemed so big to me lately. You're confident and sassy. And independent. You love PJ Masks and your sleepy dog. This past year you've added stamps to your passport, learned to swim, driven the East Coast, and learned to ride a bike without training wheels.

You are so wonderfully you. I have loved watching you grow over the past year and am admiring who you're becoming. We call you our poet ... you have an appreciation for fine things that is uncommon in a boy your age and this does not go unnoticed. You're a fierce fighter (always have been) and run towards battle.

I sure do love you, Solly Mack. Keep growing big and strong! Cheers to the past 4 years!

Ez! Happiest 2nd birthday to you, little buddy! At two you are very articulate, coordinated beyond your years (you can walk & dribble a ball, run quite quickly, hold your own on the trampoline with your brothers, and catch), and have such a hilarious personality. Daddy & I find ourselves laughing at you constantly as we recount to each other things you've said or done.

When you were born our prayer over you was that the joy of the Lord would be your strength. You radiate His joy and it overflows into the rest our lives. I hope that you always approach life with the excitement that you do now. My heart smiles thinking about how you exclaim "hey mama!" or "hey daddy!" when you see us. You're the sweetest big brother to Oscar. I never in my wildest dreams would've thought you would love him (this early on) like you do. Honey says that Oscar has got to be the most kissed baby ever because of you. You truly delight in him.

We celebrated your birthday with a trip to The Donut Experiment (you went for vanilla icing with chocolate sprinkles), jumping at Gravitopia, pizza for lunch and a trip to Starbucks for cake pops, candles and singing (your lion cake is coming soon). I hope that you always know how special you are and how much we love you!

Cheers to 80 years! We celebrated our sweet, precious Honey this past weekend with a surprise party for her 80th birthday! Much planning and thought went into this shindig and while Honey hates to be the center of attention, she was such a good sport. We spent the evening talking with family and friends, celebrating Honey and all that she is to all of us. What a joy to see everyone there for her, recognizing what a special lady she is, and to hear stories & recollections of memories of her from those who came.

Happiest 80th birthday to my Honey!
