Salt Dough Easter Ornaments

Last week I decided on a whim to make a batch of salt dough Easter ornaments. I painted a few sets for some sweet babies we know and made another batch for a friend's kids to paint! So fun!

Recipe:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250F. In a medium bowl mix flour and salt. Slowly add warm water. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Knead the dough & roll out on a non-stick surface (wax paper or parchment paper) - to about 1/4" thickness. Use cookies cutters to cut out desired shapes. Re-roll dough and cut out more shapes! Put on a baking sheet in oven for 1.5-2 hours and let cool completely before painting.

*If you want ornaments to have a hole for a string, use a straw & poke hole through ornaments before baking!
