T R A V E L | Old Village Post House, Mt. Pleasant

eeeeeek!  i am so excited to share with you my new series! over the next few weeks, i, along with some amazing guest writers will be sharing our thoughts & tips on
T R A V E L - locally, nationally and internationally

i cannot wait to get this party started & share one of our very favorite (local-ish) spots - The Old Village Post House Inn, Mt. Pleasant, SC!
mike and i LOVE the Old Village Post House in Mt. Pleasant, SC. for the past couple of years we've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here ... and even sneak away for short weekends when we can! one of our favorite things is that it's just far enough from home for us to feel like we're really getting away, but in reality it's only about a 3 hour drive from home and this gives us good windshield (aka adult conversation) time.

the OVPH has a fabulous menu. we typically check in, head straight up to our room and order appetizers and drinks for hanging out and unpacking. not on the menu, but one of our favorite things to order is the "everything you have that's pickled + homemade crackers + homemade pimento cheese" plate. it is perfect for snacking and won't fill you up. we also usually stay and have dinner one night along with brunch on Sunday (bonus: it's included in the price of your stay!)

while in Mt. Pleasant, Mike & i like to go to the Cinebarre for a movie and dinner of popcorn and snacks then head to Kaminsky's in downtown Charleston for dessert. super healthy, i know...but that's vacation mode for us!

also, of note around Mt. P: great places for antiquing, plenty of beaches minutes away (our favorite is Sullivan's Island), tons of fantastic restaurants, and shopping in Charleston.
